Henley Faux Leather Dining Chairs for Restaurants and Cafés

Why the Henley in black or white faux leather suits a restaurant or café floor: wipe-clean upholstery, an armless 56.5cm width, sets of two for even covers, and how a bulk order works with us.

A restaurant chair has two jobs. It has to look like part of the room, and it has to survive service: spills, wiping down at the end of the night and being pulled in and out a hundred times a week. The Henley in faux leather does both, which is why it is the Henley we would put on a dining floor.

Why faux leather

Fabric looks warm but holds on to what lands on it. The Henley's black and white versions are upholstered in smooth PU faux leather over high-density foam, so a spill is a quick wipe with a damp cloth rather than a stain. The seat cushion is 6.5cm deep, which is comfortable for a long dinner without the chair looking heavy.

Black or white for a dining room

Black is the safe choice for a busy room: it gives a strong contrast with the walnut frame, and suits both light and dark interiors. White, a warm ivory rather than a stark white, makes a lighter, brighter room feel lighter still, and suits a café or a brunch spot with pale walls and natural wood. Because the frame and shape are identical, you can mix them, for example white in the window and black along a banquette wall.

The shape on a dining floor

The Henley is armless, 56.5cm wide and 52.5cm deep, with a 49cm seat height. No arms means the chairs tuck in close and diners can sit nearer each other on a busy night. The curved wooden rail behind the back matters too: in a restaurant most people see the chairs from behind, and the Henley looks finished from there.

Planning the numbers

A common rule of thumb is about 60cm of table edge per diner, which at 56.5cm wide the Henley fits within. The chairs come as a set of two, so plan in even numbers; if a layout needs an odd count, tell us and we will sort it. The same design comes as a bar stool for a bar counter, in fabric, so a dining room and its bar can share one look.

Frequently asked questions

Which Henley would you recommend for a restaurant?

The faux leather ones, in black or white. Spills wipe off the smooth PU finish rather than soaking in, which matters more on a dining floor than anywhere else. The fabric Henleys are lovely, but they are better suited to a home.

How many will fit around my tables?

Each chair is 56.5cm wide and armless. A common rule of thumb is about 60cm of table edge per diner, so a 120cm table seats two a side comfortably. Measure the walkway behind the chairs too: diners pushing back need room to stand.

Do you do trade pricing on a bulk order?

Yes. Send us the quantities on our trade page and we will price the whole order. For a smaller number, Make an Offer on the product page gets you a fast answer.

Are they suitable for commercial use?

Commercial settings can have their own fire safety and durability requirements, and some insurers ask for a higher grade than domestic furniture meets. Tell us where the chairs are going before you order and we will confirm whether they suit it.
