Restaurant, Café and Small Office Furniture: Bulk Orders in the UK

By Furniture1004 min read

Four green cane back cantilever dining chairs around a round table in a bright room

A restaurant orders chairs the way a household never does: twenty at once, to be sat on all day, wiped down every night and still looking right in two years. A small office is not far behind. The pieces on this site are built for homes, but plenty of them are already earning their keep in cafés, studios and workplaces, and we supply those settings directly. Here is what to check, and how a bulk order works with us.

Restaurant and café chairs: what to check before you order twenty

Seat width and spacing. Allow around 60 cm of table edge per diner. Every product page lists the exact width, so you can work out how many fit a table before you commit. The Elara is 47 cm wide and the Astrid 52.5 cm, for example. An armless chair fits tighter than one with arms.

Weight rating. Look for the weight capacity on the product page. Several of our dining chairs are rated to 113 kg per chair, which is what you want for all-day public use rather than occasional family dinners.

Wipe-clean upholstery. For anywhere food is served, leather-look chairs are the practical choice. Reviewers of the Dusks and Marlow mention wiping them clean as a reason they bought them. One reviewer of the Cheer tested red wine and grease on it before recommending it for commercial use. Fabric and bouclé look softer but hold marks.

Fire safety. Domestic upholstered furniture in the UK meets a domestic fire standard. Some commercial settings, and some insurers, ask for a higher contract grade. Check what your fire risk assessment requires, then tell us the setting before you order. We will confirm which pieces suit it rather than guess.

Stacking and storage. Most upholstered dining chairs are not built to stack. If you need to clear a floor for events, ask us about the chair you have in mind, and plan where thirty chairs will go.

For bar and counter seating, get the height right first. Our guide to bar stool heights covers the difference between counter and bar height and how to measure for it.

Small office furniture without the corporate catalogue

Most contract office furniture is built for a hundred desks and looks like it. A small office, a studio or a reception area usually wants something that looks like a good room instead. That is where a home-office range works well: swivel desk chairs, upholstered task chairs and a couple of accent chairs for a waiting area, at prices that do not need sign-off.

The Orion is our most reviewed office chair, and our office chairs all come with the same free delivery as everything else. For a meeting room, dining chairs are often the better choice than office chairs: they are cheaper per seat, look better in a photograph and are what most people are sitting on in the reviews.

How a bulk order works with us

Order through the site if you know what you want. Every piece is sold as it appears, most chairs in sets of two, with free delivery to mainland UK on any quantity. Orders over £700 get an extra 15% off with the code EXTRA15, which a set of twelve dining chairs clears comfortably.

Contact the trade team if you want a price on a larger order, are furnishing more than one site, or need to ask about a specific setting. Send the pieces and quantities through the contact page and we will come back to you. Trade pricing is available on the whole range.

Make an offer on any single piece using the button on its product page, if you want to test a chair before committing to a room of them.

What we deliver, and when

Standard delivery to mainland UK is free and most orders arrive within 3 to 5 working days. Chairs arrive flat-packed with the legs off and the fixings in the box. Reviewers report putting a chair together in five to fifteen minutes, so a set of twenty is a couple of hours for one person. Orders placed through the site come with our standard 30 day returns.

If you are fitting out on a deadline, tell us the date when you enquire and we will tell you honestly whether the stock is there to meet it.

Frequently asked questions

Do you supply furniture to restaurants and offices?

Yes. We supply restaurants, cafés, hotels, offices and fit-outs, with trade pricing and bulk orders available on everything in the range. Contact us with the pieces and quantities you need and we will come back to you with a price.

Is delivery free on a bulk order?

Yes. Standard delivery to mainland UK is free on every order, however many chairs are on it, and most orders arrive within 3 to 5 working days.

Are your chairs suitable for commercial use?

Many are, and reviewers already use several of them in cafés and workplaces. Commercial settings can have their own fire safety and durability requirements, so tell us where the furniture is going before you order and we will confirm which pieces suit it.

How much time should I allow for assembly?

Our chairs arrive flat-packed with the legs off and go together with the tools in the box. Reviewers report five to fifteen minutes per chair, so allow a couple of hours for a full restaurant set.

Can I get a discount on a large order?

Yes, two ways. Orders over £700 get an extra 15% off with the code EXTRA15 at the time of writing, and larger or repeat orders can be priced directly by our trade team through the contact page.
