Henley Dining Chairs: Wraparound Back, Walnut Tapered Legs, and a Matching Bar Stool

By Furniture1002 min read

Henley camel dining chairs with wraparound backrests on walnut-finish tapered legs

The Henley is the Scandi dining chair in our range, and the one with a family. A padded seat and a wraparound backrest in textured fabric on a walnut-finish frame with tapered legs, in camel or beige. The same design comes as a bar stool and a lounge chair, which makes it the chair to choose if you want the kitchen table, the breakfast bar and the corner of the living room to agree.

What it is

A dining chair with contemporary curves. The seat is softly padded, and the backrest wraps round the sides of the seat rather than standing flat behind it, so it holds you from three sides without the width of full arms. The frame is walnut-finished with tapered legs. The fabric is a textured taupe weave.

It is sold as a set of two.

Who it suits

A dining room or kitchen in a mid-century or Scandinavian scheme, and anyone furnishing more than one room who would rather one design carried through. Lydia's review: "Beautiful chairs and pairs well with our Wayfair table too. Feels like quality fabric in a lovely neutral linen effect. Very happy."

Emma's is the one about the room: "Considering the price we paid for these chairs they exceeded our expectation! They fit our midcentury home perfectly, and were so easy to build. The in-laws have complimented them so much!"

The Henley range

This is the reason to know the name. The Henley exists as:

  • the dining chair, on this page, in camel or beige;
  • the Henley bar stool, same wraparound back and walnut legs at counter height;
  • a lounge chair on the same frame, for the living room.

A kitchen with a table and an island can run the same chair at both heights, which almost no range at this price allows. Our bar stool height guide covers which height the island needs.

Camel or beige

Camel is the tan-toned version and the one that reads as mid-century against the walnut. Beige is the lighter neutral. Frame, legs and shape are the same.

What buyers say

Eleven reviews. "They are amazing! I got 6 of them." Six is the number that keeps appearing, which is what happens with a chair people buy for a whole table.

Living with it

Vacuum the fabric with a soft brush and blot spills. Dust the walnut frame.

Frequently asked questions

What is a wraparound backrest?

A back that curves round the sides of the seat rather than standing flat behind it, so it supports you from behind and either side without full arms. It is what makes the Henley comfortable for a long meal while still tucking under a table.

Is there a matching bar stool?

Yes. The Henley is the one design in our range that comes as a dining chair, a bar stool and a lounge chair on the same frame and fabric, so a kitchen table and a breakfast bar can match. Each Henley page links to the others.

What is the fabric?

A textured taupe fabric that one buyer describes as a lovely neutral linen effect and feels like quality. It vacuums with a soft brush and takes a blot for spills.

Is it easy to build?

Buyers describe it as so easy to build, and one bought six for a full table.

Camel or beige?

Camel is the warmer, tan-toned version that reads as mid-century against the walnut frame. Beige is the lighter neutral for a pale room. The frame and legs are the same on both.
