The shape
The Elmsworth is all in the back. It is a curved wing shape that wraps around the rear of the seat, and its top edge dips softly in the middle, which gives the chair its outline from across the room. The seat is thick and padded, and four slim tapered legs keep the whole thing light. It is armless, and the back is upholstered behind as well as in front, so it looks considered from every side.
Two finishes
Cream is a fine, woven linen-look fabric in a warm neutral shade. It is the softer of the two, and suits pale timber tables, modern kitchens and neutral dining rooms.
Brown is PU faux leather with a softly mottled, matte finish, so it reads as a relaxed leather look rather than a shiny one. It is the warmer, more characterful choice, and pairs easily with timber tables and warm neutral interiors.
Both sit on the same tapered legs in a warm brown finish, so a pair of each around one table still looks like a set.
Where it works
A dining room or a kitchen dining area, for everyday meals and evenings around the table. At about 47cm wide and armless, it tucks in neatly around a table. The 47cm seat height suits a standard table of around 75cm.
Living with it
Vacuum the cream fabric with a soft brush and blot spills straight away. Wipe the faux leather with a damp cloth and dry it. Dust the legs.
